Sarah is a dynamic professional with extensive experience as the Group Director of Hospitality & FMCG – Food Sector at Macksons Holdings, a distinguished heritage company in Sri Lanka. Having joined the family business at a young age, Sarah quickly assumed leadership responsibilities, notably overseeing the successful launch and management of Mandarina Colombo, the group’s pioneering business hotel.
Under Sarah’s guidance, Mandarina Colombo achieved remarkable milestones, including prestigious awards such as the Gold Award in the ‘Leading City Hotel’ category at the South Asian Travel Awards 2023 and the ‘Leading Business Hotel’ award at the South Asian Travel Awards 2022.
During the challenging period of the pandemic, Sarah demonstrated exceptional leadership, ensuring the hotel’s sustainability and strategic positioning post-COVID. Her strategic acumen and focus on customer service excellence resulted in enhanced brand equity and increased occupancy levels for Mandarina Colombo.
A visionary entrepreneur, Sarah spearheaded innovative initiatives such as Mandarina Confectioneries, introducing artisanal delights and expanding the group’s presence in the food industry. Mandarina Confectioneries serves as a testament to Sarah’s innovative entrepreneurial spirit, addressing a niche market demand while showcasing her strategic vision for the expansion of the group’s portfolio.
Currently, Sarah is actively involved in the development of Marine Bay, an upcoming city hotel, where she utilizes her expertise to design customer centric spaces and explore new growth opportunities. Known for her excellent communication skills and empathetic leadership style, Sarah is highly respected by her team and is admired for her commitment to their well-being.
Outside of work, Sarah enjoys reading, watching Formula l, and engaging in advanced LEGO building, honing her problem-solving abilities.
